Wire 10 Quart Basket - The recreational weekly cumulative catch limit is 10 quarts.  It is strongly recommended that recreational fishermen obtain a wire 10 quart basket. This enables you to keep track of your catch and facilitates assessment by the Shellfish Officer at the landing site or on the flats.  The wire basket helps to keep your catch fresh and allows you to clean mud and sand off easily.

Other Containers - If you use an odd sized container please ask a Shellfish Officer to help you determine the 10 quart level and mark it clearly on your container.  This will allow for quick reference in checking the amount of your catch.  Buckets and bags must be dumped in order to assess the catch and should be avoided if at all possible.

Note:  Marker floats can greatly aid in locating your catch as the tide flows back in to cover your basket.  A brightly colored fishing float, small plastic bottle, or piece of wood tied to your catch container will work fine.
